The harmonized LLQP is modular. For a full life-insurance licence, candidates generally need to pass Life Insurance, Accident & Sickness, Segregated Funds & Annuities, and the applicable Ethics & Professional Practice module. The qualifying course must be completed through an approved provider before the provincial exam process.

Durham College states that five pilot questions are included in each module and are excluded from the final score. The required passing score is 60% per module.
FSRA states that Ontario LLQP exams are available only in person and are administered by Durham College. The in-person requirement took effect July 1, 2026.
