Before the provincial exam

Ontario candidates must complete the LLQP qualifying course through an approved provider and hold the required proof/certification before writing the provincial modules.

LLQPprep does not replace that requirement. It is supplementary exam-preparation practice.

Exam format

  • Life: 35 questions, 75 minutes
  • A&S: 35 questions, 75 minutes
  • Seg Funds: 35 questions, 75 minutes
  • Ethics Common Law: 25 questions, 75 minutes
  • Five pilot questions in every module
  • 60% required to pass each module

What changes for preparation?

The move to in-person delivery increases the value of disciplined pacing and familiarity with the supplied electronic reference material. Candidates should practise reading questions carefully, locating relevant material efficiently and making the best decision without relying on casual web searching or personal notes.

Jurisdiction note: This page is Ontario-specific. Other provinces and territories may use different delivery arrangements even though the harmonized curriculum and modular design are national.
