Ontario LLQP exams are in person.
FSRA announced that online LLQP exams in Ontario would be discontinued effective July 1, 2026. FSRA's current LLQP page states that the exam is administered by Durham College and is available only in person, subject to accommodations.
Before the provincial exam
Ontario candidates must complete the LLQP qualifying course through an approved provider and hold the required proof/certification before writing the provincial modules.
LLQPprep does not replace that requirement. It is supplementary exam-preparation practice.
Exam format
- Life: 35 questions, 75 minutes
- A&S: 35 questions, 75 minutes
- Seg Funds: 35 questions, 75 minutes
- Ethics Common Law: 25 questions, 75 minutes
- Five pilot questions in every module
- 60% required to pass each module
What changes for preparation?
The move to in-person delivery increases the value of disciplined pacing and familiarity with the supplied electronic reference material. Candidates should practise reading questions carefully, locating relevant material efficiently and making the best decision without relying on casual web searching or personal notes.
